Luminous is operated by Luminous M5:14 Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (company no. 17352803), registered office Flat 14 Hanover House, Hayes Close, Bristol, England, BS2 0AS. Using the site, applying for membership, or giving through Patronage means you accept the terms below. Write to home@luminousm514.com about any of it.

Applying creates a real account before a decision is made — see the Waiting Room. A person reads every application by hand. Admission is never guaranteed and we don't owe an explanation for a rejection. What we ask in return: one application per person, and real, accurate details — a name, a discipline, a portfolio link that's actually yours. We can remove a profile or close an account at any time, most likely because something in it turned out not to be true.

An approved profile holds what you gave us: your name, discipline, a short bio, and links to your own work, which we may display or embed directly on the site so a visitor can see it without leaving the archive. You keep every right to all of it. By submitting a link, you're telling us it's yours to show. What you grant Luminous is narrow, and it splits in two.

Work you made before Luminous, or away from it, stays on your terms. We show it where you've given permission, you can hold that permission back to particular pieces, and you can withdraw it. Tell us and it comes down. Nothing here reaches your catalogue.

Work booked through Luminous sits differently. Where we made the introduction and the job came out of it, we may keep the finished piece in the archive's own record of what has been made here, credited to you, for as long as the archive keeps it. That is the one place our claim runs past permission, and it reaches only that work.

Either way the credit is yours and stays visible. Curation lifts a name. It does not absorb one.

No member's contact details are published here. When someone wants to work with a creative in the archive, the introduction comes through us, by hand, and the creative decides whether to take it. Write to home@luminousm514.com to ask for one.

When an introduction becomes paid work, Luminous charges the creative a commission on that fee, between 10% and 20%. The rate, when it is invoiced, and how repeat work with the same client is treated are set out in a short written agreement issued for that booking and signed before the work starts. No signed agreement, no commission. These terms alone never create a fee.

Work you find and book on your own, without an introduction from us, is yours. We take nothing from it.

Luminous curates and introduces. It does not employ anyone, act as an agent, or stand behind the work. A creative listed here is not our staff and not our contractor, and a client who hires one is contracting with them, not with us.

A person reads every application, but we cannot verify every claim someone makes about themselves. We don't promise that an introduction leads to work, that work leads to payment, or that either side performs. Those are between them.

Giving through Patronage runs entirely through GoCardless. Your bank details go to them directly, never to us. A monthly gift is a Direct Debit mandate, protected by the UK Direct Debit Guarantee. A one-off gift is a single payment we initiate at the amount you choose. Patronage funds the archive rather than buying a product or service, so we don't offer a standing refund policy — write to us if something went wrong and we'll look at it directly.

The Luminous name, the mark, and the design and code of this site belong to Luminous M5:14 Limited. Nothing here transfers any of that to you. Your own work stays yours, exactly as described above.

The archive is kept by hand, not guaranteed to be uninterrupted or fault-free, and provided as it stands. We carry no liability for loss arising from its use beyond what English law won't let us disclaim. We may update these terms as the platform changes and will move the effective date above when we do. These terms, and everything on the site, are governed by the law of England and Wales.
