Room I / The Vision
Isaiah 60 is the ground this is built on. The whole chapter, not the one line everybody quotes.
Ask a Christian creative in this country what the hard part is and hardly anyone says talent. They say the studio is quiet. They say the work is precarious and underpaid, and that the precarity costs more than money. Musicians describe being pigeonholed, kept at the edge of an industry that never quite knew where to file them.
In London, someone white and comfortably off has roughly a one in five chance of working in the creative industries. For someone Black and working class, it is half that.
And nobody knows how many Christian creatives work in Britain. Not a disputed figure. No figure. They have never been gathered, so they have never been counted.
Luminous gathers them. A curated home, kept by hand, where the work is held to the standard it deserves and the person who made it is credited wherever it appears.
A person reads every application. Every name in the index was admitted on purpose. When someone wants to hire a creative here, the introduction comes through us and the creative decides. That is the whole machine.
“Arise, shine, for your light has come…”
